Huawei announced its two mid-range phones - the Nova and Nova Plus - during the IFA event in Berlin. The company is expected to release them by early October so in this blog post, we are going to talk about the detailed specifications, design and size of both smartphones.

DISPLAY and CAMERA: The size of Nova's screen is 5.0' and the Nova Plus, 5.5'. Both have IPS LCD panels with full HD resolution. The smaller Nova has a lower pixel density at 401 ppi while the Nova Plus boasts a higher pixel density at 443 ppi.

The camera is one of the biggest assets of both phones. The Nova has a 12MP rear-facing camera, which can record videos at 4k, the Nova Plus, a 16MP rear-facing camera and features OIS and 4K video. Both have an 8MP front-facing camera.

HARDWARE AND PERFORMANCE:

Since these phones were categorized as mid-range, techies and avid fans of the company expected Huawei to use a lower chipset. In this case, it opted for a Snapdragon 625 for both phones, using  a 14nm process and a CPU with eight 64-bit Cortex-A53 cores, clocking up to 2.0GHz, and with Adreno 506 GPU.

The phones have a bigger battery - a good deal, especially for heavy use. The Nova has 3020mAh, considering it has a smaller screen, while the Nova Plus comes with 3340mAh.
Both run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, although it is upgradable to 7.0 Nougat.

Nova's design is similar to last year's Huawei Nexus 6P, and the Nova Plus is comparable to the Mate Line.
