Should I upgrade my iPhone to the new iPhone 7?
Rumored antenna band for iPhone 7 |
Rumor has it that Apple is going to release the new iPhone 7 mid-September and everyone's excited about it with lots of expectations about the design, hardware and software but again, is it really worth the upgrade?
Let's start with the design. Releasing the iPhone 6 two years ago completely changed how everyone looked at the iPhone. It's half the width of the iPhone 5, from 4'- inch display to iPhone 6 4.7' display and not just that, Apple released a bigger iPhone which is the 5.5'-inch iPhone 6-plus with all metal body. The hardware was upgraded which uses an A8 past the iPhone 5s A7, the rear 8 mega-pixel camera and 1.2 mega-pixel front-facing camera and higher display resolution displays with bigger battery.
Then came the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s plus. Not much to everyone's dismay but people were expecting more innovation from Apple, changes from the design to hardware and software. The design was disappointing cause it looks similar to the previous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, Although they added a feature, the 3D Touch, which everyone thought to be the breakthrough, but it didn't do much to catch consumer's attention.
The hardware was improved, using an A9 chip and a higher 12 mega-pixel rear camera and 5 mega-pixel front-facing camera, dedicated for selfie's, and added live photo capabilities.
In a few weeks time, Apple's going to release the new iPhone 7 and a lot of rumors circulating about the design. The headphone jack is removed and they replaced it with a lightning cable to make the iPhone slimmer than the previous iPhones. The antenna stripes no longer form a band across the device's rear. And the return of all metal body or glass with a higher camera resolution and display. Plus improving the touch button so you wouldn't have to press it, you just have to tap it. And if my sources are right, Apple might include a 3GB RAM compared to the previous iPhone's 2GB RAM.
So is it really worth the upgrade? Well, with the new features and hardware upgrades, it's really hard to decide but if you have the money, go for it.
