The LG V20 and iPhone 7s: The Best of the New Smartphones

LG-V20

A lot of new smartphones have been unveiled this month, as well as released to the market. But what caught our attention was the LG V20 and the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

LG V20, a successor to last year's V10, but this time, LG opted for a dual-lens setup with serious wide-angle flair. The first camera, offers 16 megapixels with optical stabilization, the second, an 8-megapixel wide-angle for capturing a more-expansive field of view. The front-facing camera has 5 megapixels and can also be used for wide-angle shooting.
Additional features that make this device one of the best high-end smartphones out there are:
The first Android Phone to have Nougat 7.0 OS installed upon release
5.7-inch QHD display (2560 x 1440 / 513ppi)
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM with 32/64 GB storage with microSD, up to 256 GB.

On the Apple front, the new iPhone 7 has 2 GB of RAM and the 7 plus, 3 GB. Apple scrapped the 16-GB storage option and now offers 32-GB of base storage on both phones. The pair also come in jet-black-colour versions, with either 128 or 256 gigabytes of storage capacity. Apple removed space grey and added plain black as well.

The camera offers 12 megapixels on both phones with 7 megapixels front facing, but the Plus version also has a dual-rear camera. The first camera offers a 28mm lens while the secondary one has a 56mm lens, which Apple calls a telephoto camera, purposely for shooting a wide-angle view,

Apple made both phones dust and water resistant, with an IP67 certification, but also ditched the headphone jack to give way to new stereo speakers, replacing it with a lightning cable connector. During their event this month, Apple said there would be a regular headphone adaptor included inside the box upon purchase, but that didn't stop a lot of consumers from being disappointed over the new changes.

Both phones use different platforms but have lots of similarities. At the moment, we can't make a physical comparison because the new iPhones aren't widely available, but I will write a review on both soon.
